The Many Faces of Myra

In a previous post we talked about the ancient city of Myra in modern-day Demre on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast.  One of the most striking features of the city are the theatrical mask sculptures.  To be honest, they are creepy.  They are so creepy we thought we would give them their own post.  I don’t know if it is the round, hollow eyes or the mouths of dismay that makes me shudder, but I wouldn’t want to deprive you of this disturbing experience.  So without further ado, I present to you “The Many Faces of Myra.”

To our friends in the West, keep looking East!
